1. Fair-use thresholds#
| Plan | Threshold | What happens beyond |
|---|---|---|
| Unlimited Personal - UK | 1,000 GB / month | Throttled to ~5 Mbps until next bill cycle |
| UK + EEA roaming | 25 GB / month (Ofcom) | Throttled, not charged |
| Tethering / hotspot | Same as parent plan | Same as parent plan |
| Bulk M2M on consumer plan | Not permitted | Service may be suspended; use a B2B IoT plan |
2. What happens if you cross a threshold#
We notify you, then throttle to ~256 kbps for the rest of the billing month. You are never charged extra. Throttling lifts at the start of the next billing month.

3. Prolonged or abusive roaming#
UK + EEA roaming is intended for periodic travel. Where usage abroad has exceeded usage in the UK across a continuous 4-month observation window we may, after written notice and a 14-day chance to cure, apply Ofcom's permitted surcharge until usage normalises.
4. Review & ownership#
Owner: Head of Network. Reviewed annually. Cross-references: Personal Terms, Billing.
